Okay So I just saved about ?200+ on buying a new DVD player & HDTV. Thought I would share some info that might save you some money & maybe show you the way to some seriously nice items at very affordable prices.
First Site you need close to hand is: http://www.nextag.co.uk/
What this site does is basically allows you to search a specific or unspecific (e.g 24" Plasma TV) items & it will find you the best on-line price in the United Kingdom.
So how do you chose? Well obviously you might want to troll a favourite Site to see what's within your price range & what features you want to be going for. I was searching for a new television through www.play.com which is available through the simian cage home page (Remember Kids Buying through those links provides us with ??? which keep you in servers).
For more in depth info on a product always check the manufacturers web page, you can get full in depth technical specifications & product highlights, not to mention downloadable manuals so you can see if that new DVD recorder is painfully hard to set up or walk in the park.
The Beauty of Next-Tag is that they will always show you the best item prices & from businesses who have been checked out by big watchdog companies like e-trust to make sure that the to good to be true deal is safe & you aren't being taken for a ride by some white van men with laptops.
But Next-Tag also offers you more than just home entertainment saving finds, also can get games, mortgages & a lot of other great stuff.
Its worth checking out especially if you've been shopping seen something you liked in the likes of places such as curry's or comet & thought 'Hey that's great but I don't really want to mortgage my pet giraffe & centipede aquarium to get it. Take a look, you'll probably be surprised.
On a note to people after a HDTV or Modern DVD player, play.com is THE cheapest place to buy HDMI cables anywhere at the moment, very good quality & a fraction of the price of even the best value sellers.
