Its on its way! I've been reading up a lot of info on this and it truly sounds like its going to be on our door steps sooner rather than latter, already being tested in Scotland & Wales & Milton Keynes this new industry standard IEEE 802.16 Interoperability Microwave broadband is going to change the way we work & play. Delivering upto 40 Mbps in a 3 to 10 kilometre radius per channel even the most remote rural locations will be covered.
The technology has been here for quite sometime but now its reality & its only a matter of time before we can truly use wireless networking outside the household from broadband supply in the house to broadband skype/mobile phones with the ability to stream not just clips but high def video & live tv to a handset/pda/laptop from anywhere at any time.
Sounds to good to be true. read it here @
