Hi, has there been some changes to TF2 servers reserved slot setup? I used to be able to leave TF2 on Auto Connect waiting for a slot... but now it mostly always shows 30/31 so tries to join but then gets "Disconnect: Dropped to due to slot reservation". This is very annoying and it didnt use to do this :( Is this deliberate or a problem that will get fixed? Cheers KylieTastic P.S. I can no longer se the chat box :/

The reserve slot joining mechanism is that each time someone tries to join a full server you join in a checking slot, and the server checks to see if you have a res slot. if you have it allows you in but if you don't have a slot you get kicked out of the checking slot so the next person can try to join. It didn't used to do it because the res slot never really worked for TF2 but now it has been fixed.(Easy answer is to get a res slot!)

As for the chatbox, we have installed a new chatbox which has the option of being turned on or off for each person, if you go into your usercp make sure it is enabled.

ok, it was because this appears to have changed in the last week and I thought you had always used reserved slots.

I assumed you used SourceMod and had sm_hide_slots set on because as the documentation says "For this reason it is often better to hide the slots otherwise public users will attempt to join the server and will get kicked again (rendering the ‘autojoin’ feature useless)" - and when our clan used to run a CSS server without this it pissed of so many regs we had to turn it on.

tbh I already spend enough running my own CZ server and webby so cant really justify a res slot just for a backup game

Oh well had loads of fun on your servers the last few weeks, but since now I have failed to get onto the server in the last 2 days time to find another server.

Res slot has been working for sometime actualy 6 to 8 weeks. I recently put the servers upto 31 players and forgot to put res slot down by 1. 31 + 1 res slot = 32 as is the max player. all should be fine now. I dont use hide slot I use sv_visiblemaxplayers as its just the way you personaly set it up! it has the same effect as hide slot but is a server cvar as apossed to a sm_mod cvar! sorry for the inconvenience!

If you goto user cp then on the left hand side is edit options in the first catogory then scroll to the bottem of the page its just up 1 from the bottem :)

ok the default setting for using the chatbox was 10 posts. i have now changed it to 2 posts. Therefore if you have not made at least 2 posts then you cant use the chatbox.

That's quite al right, thank you for noticing the slot miss hap, so much going on I forgot to adjust it! nothing worse than being continually kicked on a server with places showing.
