Ok admittedly most of you probably havent finished it yet, and some dont even have it.
But if you have let us know your opinions.

I never liked the first one, i didnt play on playing the second at all, however i must admit it looks and sounds a lot better than i thought. Cant wait to get a new computer so i can try it out. Hopefully in a few weeks :( damn parents dont want me havin one, aparently i spend enough time on already :-p I do think that it was way over hyped, but i guess ill see when i get it. im curious to know what others think.

Played it for 2 hrs yesterday, looks amazing, physics amazing, story so far v.good. Got to be the best game ever until the next best game ever comes out - Jet Set Willy:Source :P

Noway, havnt tried it but I doubt it is better then for exempel Monkey Island 1/2, Commander Keen 4, NHL 94 (pc version), Transport Tycoon, Moonstone (amiga) etc etc etc....

Sam and Max, original Prince of Persia (I still can't get over how cool the mirror part of that game was), etc etc

Original Prince of Persia game.... bugged to hell but yeah, having to put your sword away to get past the mirror, tres cool!

My best game ever is Final Fantasy 7. A story and a half and fantastic graphics (in it's time).

well thats hl2 finished would of liked it to be longer but it is an ace game

I've played at lot of games in my time. This game is great but not the best. I finished it in 16 hours I think on normal setting. I don't want to give anything away to those who haven't played it yet. So I'll just leave you with this comment: "They did a Matrix Reloaded on it!" Hope that sums up my opinion! MUHAHHAHAHAHAHA!

well id say a brillianty game....but no the best ever:

it was way too easy in my opinion (completed on hard), the ai was quite easy to beat (this i reckon comes from playin css a lot against people good and bad) so was dissappointed with that bit

another is the fact that the game was billed as 'the greatest game ever' this in my case made me think its gonna b the best game ever, which is all well and good but i preferre a game to come outta nowhere and b awesome.

that said the game was brilliant, beats doom3 and all other shooters, but the best game ever?? no that goes to the original half life, no other game will make the same impact the origianal did, well not for me

I never liked the first hl, i thought it was really lame, ai was silly... they were like fat stick men :), so this was really good for me, but not the best game of all time...

oh and as someone said something about final fantasy, i really really loved number 9 it was the best ff ever... EVER EVER EVER EVERERER.... 8)

The game suffers from what most FPSs do. A distinct lack of varied opposition. I got tired of shooting headcrabs in vents in the last half-life, and to be fair, they got rid of them in this one, but they were just replaced with headcrabs in the street. And wow, there are now 3 different types of headcrab, thats variety :|.

There are 4 enemies in this game, headcrabs, zombies, combine troops and vehicles. OK there are the spinny razor things, but once you get the grav gun, they dont pose a problem. I want a game with enemies that behave in different ways, not one that just throws enough of the same at you and hopes that ur so pre-occupied with shotgunning your 53rd basic combine soldier that you dont notice.

I havent finished it yet (havent had time really and it pisses me off that even in a game as delayed as this I came across as shit a bug as i did (Strider battle, killed everything, stuck in the battle area, no new location opened, the door at the back of the square is bricked up)), and they might surprise me with 545 different bad guys in the last few levels, but I doubt it. I think they should concentrate less on the narative and the set-pieces next time if it meant they could inject some variety.

yeah it is always the same thing through this game, but its still a bit of fun.. 8)

K finished, no new bag guys, almost redeemed itself with the end-level weapon (almost a spoiler sry) :D, but no, still somewhat disapointing.

Someone said it earlier (cant be arsed to scroll up) but if the game wasnt hyped so much then maybe i'd appreciate it more.

yeah everyones said about this gun, but nobodys ever spilled any beans.... 8)
