Well episode 11 will be available in a few hours and that's it, thanks to the writers strike (I whole heartedly agree with the writers) volume 1 is the whole of season 2 (atleast for a while). Although quite a few critics and others had problems with season one, it was a big success and personally I really enjoyed it (though I wouldn't rate it anything like as highly as say 'Lost'). Now I'm really disappointed that season 2 is likely to be cut so short and that we might never get to see 'Origins', the spin-off scheduled to fill the six week gap in the seasons TV showings, but I've still quite liked much of the stuff we got to see (especially episode 7). Season 2 has been widely panned by the press and even many fans, Tim Kring (series creator) even apologised for the season slumps. I'm disappointed that episode 11, the volume 1 finale, is most likely the season finale but am hopeful for season 3/season 2: volume 2, promised to be better, which if all goes well with the strike we might get to see at some point next year. I'll probably get a hold of episode 11 by tomorrow afternoon or evening. What did you think of season 2?

got eps 11 to watch but gf is off out for a bit so i have to wait pfff yea ok!

i've loved S2 so far, its just a shame that we wont get to see the spin off as it was ment to be, if at all

and this will return after the strike

asfar as the strike pfff... they get payed to do a job and then want money for something that happens after the jobs finished!
thats like a plumber charging you to install your water taps and then asking for a charge every time you use the tap.

No its not.
An artist creates a piece of work and then doesn't get paid for what that work earns. It'd be like re-releasing your favourite bands album and not paying them anything from the proceeds.

the bands rarely get money for released stuff
i'm sure the beattles dont get money for stuff they wrote

the lisences are owned by someoen that gets the money, just the same as the shows are owned by the tv studios that pays the writers to do a job

Bands get royalties when their music is used, the band members of Wizard most likely live off their Christmas royalties and bands like the Beatles will have got large sums from selling back catalog licences and made deals for profit divisions with the record company they sign with.
Currently writers have a deal with the film and television production companies, like the deal between musicians and the record companies, for a percentage cut in video sales of their work formed when VHS was new. This cut has not increased since VHS production costs fell and profits grew dramatically or since the switch to DVD when production costs fell and profits grew even more. For profits from digital media such as streaming shows on the internet most writers receive nothing. The strike involves the writers wanting a bigger cut because times have and are still changing. And if you think thats greedy your talking about tiny percentages, the writers wanting an increase from around 0.5% to less then 2.5% of the gross profit, of which producers (some of which do very little in terms of creating the show) earn billions. By the way, animation writers receive even less, which is also being disputed. Also writers only want money for distribution of their writing product, companies like Disney make billions from merchandising toys and such based on writers creations that writers don't see any profit from and aren't even argueing for.
